The results of physical, chemical and bacteriological analyses showed a difference in the quality of drinking water. The results of turbidity in water supplies distribution system ranged from (0.5 - 7 JTU) and the values pH ranged between (6.47 - 7.37), while the concentration of total soluble salts, total hardness, calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, chloride, nitrate, sulphate, bicarbonate, iron, manganese, zinc, copper ranged from 648 – 1523, 52 – 224, 11 – 37, 2 – 33, 26 – 112, 17- 34, 121 – 540, 3 – 33, 29 - 695, 46 – 78, 0.03 – 2.77, 0.07 – 2.07, 0.0 – 1.0, 0.0 – 0.026 mg/l respectively. While all samples were free of lead, the total number of bacteria ranged between (7 - 65 UFC/ ml); all samples studied were free from coliform bacteria.
