  • Results have not been deliberately manipulated or misrepresented.
  • Images have not been inappropriately manipulated.
  • The publication record has not been deliberately distorted.

The journal may use similarity-detection software as part of the editorial screening process.

A similarity report is not, by itself, evidence of plagiarism. The nature, extent, and context of any detected overlap will be assessed before an editorial decision is made.

  1. Authorship

Authorship should reflect substantial intellectual or scholarly contributions to the research.

All listed authors should have contributed meaningfully to the work and should have participated sufficiently to take responsibility for their respective contributions.

All authors must approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission.

The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the journal and for ensuring that all authors have approved the submission and the authorship arrangement.

The addition, removal, or rearrangement of authors after submission should occur only in exceptional circumstances, with an appropriate explanation and the agreement of all affected authors and the Editorial Board.

  1. Contributor Roles

The journal encourages authors to provide a transparent description of individual contributions where requested.

Contributions may include conceptualization, methodology, investigation, data curation, formal analysis, visualization, writing, review and editing, supervision, project administration, and funding acquisition.

The journal may adopt the CRediT taxonomy to describe contributor roles.

  1. Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial, personal, institutional, professional, or other interests that could reasonably be perceived as influencing the research or its interpretation.

Transparency is required even where authors believe that the disclosed relationship has not affected the research.

Where no competing interests exist, authors should state:

“The authors declare that they have no competing interests.”

  1. Funding

All sources of financial support for the research should be disclosed.

Where applicable, authors should identify the funding organization and grant or project number.

Authors should also indicate, where relevant, whether the funder had any role in the study design, data collection, analysis, interpretation, manuscript preparation, or decision to submit the manuscript.

  1. Data Availability

The journal encourages authors to promote transparency and reproducibility by making research data available where ethically, legally, and practically possible.

Where data are available through a recognized repository, authors are encouraged to provide the relevant identifier or persistent link.

Where data cannot be shared because of ethical, legal, privacy, confidentiality, or other legitimate restrictions, authors should provide an appropriate explanation.

  1. Ethical Approval

Research involving human participants, animals, identifiable personal information, or other ethically sensitive procedures must comply with applicable ethical standards and institutional or national requirements.

Where ethical approval is required, authors must provide appropriate information regarding the approving institution or committee and the approval number, where applicable.

Where informed consent is required, authors must confirm that it was obtained in accordance with applicable requirements.

  1. Use of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies

The Journal of Applied Sciences recognizes that generative AI and AI-assisted technologies may be used to support certain aspects of manuscript preparation or research. Such use must remain subject to human oversight and scientific judgment.

AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors.

Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and scientific validity of their manuscript, including all AI-assisted content.

When generative AI or AI-assisted technologies are used in manuscript preparation beyond basic spelling, grammar, or punctuation checking, authors should disclose their use in an appropriate declaration.

Authors must carefully review and verify AI-generated or AI-assisted content before submission, particularly scientific statements, data, interpretations, references, and citations.

AI tools must not be used to fabricate, falsify, manipulate, or misrepresent scientific data or evidence.

  1. Double-Blind Peer Review

The Journal of Applied Sciences follows a Double-Blind Peer Review process.

Under this model, the identities of authors are concealed from reviewers, and the identities of reviewers are concealed from authors during the review process.

Authors should therefore prepare the manuscript in a manner that does not unnecessarily reveal their identity within the blinded manuscript.

The Editorial Office may conduct an initial assessment of the manuscript before peer review to determine its suitability for the journal, compliance with basic requirements, and overall scientific quality.

Manuscripts considered suitable are sent to qualified reviewers with relevant expertise.

Reviewers may evaluate:

  • Originality.
  • Scientific significance.
  • Methodological rigor.
  • Validity of analysis.
  • Interpretation of results.
  • Clarity of presentation.
  • Adequacy and relevance of references.
  • Ethical and reporting standards.

The final editorial decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief or the authorized editor.

Possible decisions include:

  • Accept.
  • Minor Revision.
  • Major Revision.
  • Reject.

A request for revision does not guarantee acceptance.

  1. Revision

When revision is requested, authors should submit the revised manuscript within the period specified by the Editorial Office.

A revised submission should normally include:

  1. A revised manuscript.
  2. A marked version showing the changes, where requested.
  3. A point-by-point response to the reviewers' comments.

Authors should address each reviewer comment clearly and indicate where the corresponding change has been made.

Where authors disagree with a reviewer comment, they should provide a respectful and scientifically justified explanation.

  1. Confidentiality

Submitted manuscripts and related editorial communications are treated as confidential.

Editors and reviewers must not disclose, share, or use unpublished information obtained through the review process for personal or professional advantage.

Reviewers should not contact authors directly regarding a manuscript unless authorized by the Editorial Office.

  1. Complaints and Appeals

The Journal of Applied Sciences is committed to handling complaints and appeals fairly, transparently, and appropriately.

Authors may appeal an editorial decision when they believe that a significant factual or procedural error has affected the decision.

An appeal should provide a clear explanation of the grounds for reconsideration and, where appropriate, supporting evidence.

Complaints concerning editorial procedures, peer review, authorship, publication ethics, or other journal matters should be submitted to:

Editorial Office: ....................................................

The journal will assess complaints and appeals according to its applicable procedures and will seek to handle them independently and without retaliation.

  1. Research Misconduct

The journal takes allegations of research and publication misconduct seriously.

Potential misconduct may include, but is not limited to:

  • Fabrication of data.
  • Falsification of data.
  • Plagiarism.
  • Duplicate or redundant publication.
  • Inappropriate authorship.
  • Manipulation of peer review.
  • Undisclosed conflicts of interest.
  • Inappropriate image manipulation.
  • Citation manipulation.
  • Other practices that compromise the integrity of the scientific record.

Where concerns arise, the journal may request explanations or supporting documentation from the authors and may contact the relevant institution or other appropriate parties when necessary.

Editorial actions will be determined according to the nature and seriousness of the concern and applicable publication-ethics principles.

  1. Corrections and Retractions

The journal recognizes that errors may occasionally be identified after publication.

Where a published article contains an error that affects the accuracy of the scientific record, the journal may publish a correction or other appropriate notice.

If the findings of a published article are subsequently determined to be fundamentally unreliable, or if serious publication-ethics concerns are established, the journal may retract the article.

Corrections and retraction notices will be linked to the original article where appropriate in order to maintain the integrity and transparency of the published record.

  1. Copyright and Open Access License

The Journal of Applied Sciences publishes articles under an Open Access model.

The applicable copyright and licensing arrangements are governed by the journal's publishing policy and the agreement applicable to accepted manuscripts.

Open Access License: ....................................................

Authors are responsible for ensuring that third-party material included in their manuscripts is appropriately acknowledged and that permission has been obtained where required.

  1. Article Processing Charges

The Journal of Applied Sciences operates under an Open Access publishing model and applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) to accepted manuscripts in accordance with the journal's approved publication policy.

Article Processing Charge: ....................................................

Any applicable fees and payment procedures will be communicated clearly to authors before publication.

Editorial decisions are based on the scientific quality and scholarly merit of the manuscript and are independent of the author's ability to pay the publication charge.

  1. Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions should be based on the scientific quality, originality, relevance, and integrity of the submitted manuscript.

Editorial decisions should not be influenced by commercial, institutional, personal, political, or other inappropriate considerations.

Editors should disclose and appropriately manage any conflict of interest that could affect their impartiality.

  1. Post-Publication Issues

The journal welcomes constructive scholarly communication concerning published articles.

Readers who identify a substantive concern regarding a published article may contact the Editorial Office with sufficient information to allow the matter to be assessed.
